Marty Brown's goal was to make a 'locals only' children's ABC book about Indianapolis. There are many kids' books about Indianapolis or Indiana, but most are at the tourist level. In other words, they could have been written based solely on Indianapolis' Wikipedia page. This book is designed to be representative of the whole city. For each letter of the alphabet, they've chosen a place in Indianapolis. Many letters are dedicated to landmarks in and around downtown, but we also include parks, events, and other sites throughout the city.
This colorful book celebrates Indianapolis through each letter of the alphabet. ABCs in Indianapolis provides an "insider's" look at Indianapolis. You won't find any open wheel race cars or tenderloins in the book, but you will find local curiosities and surprises that bring Indianapolis to life. The goal of the book is to make both kids and their parents more interested in exploring and learning about our city.
We think you and your little one will find these beautifully illustrated designs by Jingo de la Rosa, of treasures in Indianapolis a fun book to read over and over again!
