May 2017 Update on Parker (from his Mom)
On May 21st, Parker will have completed over three years of treatment to ultimately beat leukemia. The past few years have been filled with daily chemo, infusions, spinal taps, multiple hospital stays, and much, much more. Through it all, Parker's 'toughness' never failed. He battled with all his heart against something he couldn't even see, much less understand, and hardly ever complained; now that's tough!
Parker was only a two year old when he was diagnosed. Now, a 'crazy' five year old, he and his brothers will be going to kindergarten this fall. Although this chapter of our lives is closing, doctors will continue to monitor Parker on a monthly basis to ensure he continues to stay in remission, and watch for possible long term side effects associated with the chemo meds he has taken during treatment.
While the past few years have been extremely difficult, the love, support, prayers, and encouragement from our family, friends, and this community have carried us through some of the hardest days of our lives. You gave us so much good to focus on in the midst of our pain, and for that we are eternally grateful.
A HUGE thank you to 'Roman and Leo' for spreading Parker's "I'm Tough" mantra through these amazing t-shirts. It truly warms our hearts to see pictures of kiddos supporting Parker by wearing their "I'm tough" tees.
Again, thank you all for loving our family and being a part of Parker's journey to become a cancer SURVIVOR . He is, and always will be, our real-life superhero!
May 2014 - Parker's Story
Parker Joe is a sweet, yet shy, caring, vibrant, two year old little boy. He has a smile that lights up the room! He is one of a set of triplet boys (Hayden & Wyatt)! He also has an older sister, Emersyn, who is four. Over the past few months, Parker has proven that he is also one of the toughest little guys you’ll meet…a force to be reckoned with!
On March 16th, 2014, Parker was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Based on his age and early detection his prognosis is good, however, he has three years of treatment ahead of him. To show support for Parker during his fight, we are selling t-shirts inspired by his motto in the video below, “I’m tough!”
